Hi, I’m Anita Turner.
This site initially arose out of my passion for research regarding the evolution of the workplace and its impact on my commercial real estate clients. As a former lawyer, I have a special interest in law firms that has evolved into an obsession with how the legal industry is evolving – especially in the area of client service.
Although Birmingham is now home, I grew up and went to undergrad in Minnesota. In hopes of escaping winter permanently, I fled to southern California after graduation to attend law school at Pepperdine University. I practiced law for one year in Los Angeles before realizing that my life did not resemble LA Law in any way, so… I went back to school.
I got my MBA from UCLA and through an internship at JLL, I found the perfect career for my educational background – office tenant representation. Somewhere along the way, I married an Air Force officer from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. After living and working all over the United States (Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Tampa, Northern Virginia, and Las Vegas), we settled in Birmingham seven years ago where I am a principal in the Alabama office of Colliers International.
Twenty years later, like the legal industry, I am evolving. My path is winding its way back to law firms, this time through helping them better understand and serve their clients. I am fortunate to balance my career passions with my husband, two kids, Crimson Tide football and a love of tough workouts.
